Aarhus Art Building

Aarhus Art Building

Built in 1917 with an extension in 2003, and situated in the city centre, the Aarhus Art Building is one of Denmark?s finest exhibition venues.
The wonderful natural roof-light and the perfect hanging-walls provide the artists with an optimum setting for presenting their works. The museum presents some 20 exhibitions every year, displaying all types of contemporary art, photographs, placards and posters.
In 2003 the Aarhus Art Building opened a new extension, which was designed by the architectural firm of C.F. Møller. With 1,000 square meters of exhibition space the museum stands as one of the largest exhibition venues of its kind in Denmark. In addition to art exhibitions, the museum also provides the setting for literary nights, jazz afternoons, lectures and much much more.
There is free admission to the sculpture garden, to the café with its art library and Children?s Corner, and to the shop offering Danish arts and crafts.
